Thanks for being a part of this most important journey with me. Marketing is a massively important skill in business and it is by learning how
it can be done better that we are going to make it a major success. What I mean by marketing is discovering the best way to help your customer make a positive decision to buy your product. To build that formula I am going to apply marketing techniques I already understand, add what some of the best names on the internet tell me, plus a factor to make your guerrilla marketing project burst into flame.
That factor is Neuro linguistic programming, a set of skills that makes marketing extraordinary. NLP has the tools to communicate what is told in a way that makes people feel comfortable and trust more readily. I will take my blog friends on the journey as I discover the best way to apply the elegance and power of NLP to build a marketing campaign. I will be talking with the best NLP Masters and sharing with you the power I discover.
It is right to ask where the Bitesize bit comes into the equation? I have trained for many years and am sure that people learn best in readily digestible chunks. Each element of the bitesize-marketing-nlp blog will be something you can read, watch or listen to in 20-30 minutes duration, maximising what you get from it, making it easier to squeeze into a full schedule.
Where do we start?
There are a huge number of marketing training products on the internet, using methods that can be very successful, making millionaires and billionaires at least sometimes for the owners. I look at what is offered and think ‘how can that work for me?’ and in order to find out a significant amount of money will go from my bank account into theirs. I guarantee that by staying on this blog you will learn a lot, understand a lot more and be able to put it all into practice. What I can also promise is that the results will compete with the best competition in the marketplace.
The process of marketing can be split into a number of steps, all of which will have an impact on sales. The surprising thing is that most businesses only use a couple of them. By increasing the number of steps you include in your campaign will improve the performance of your business. A good marketer will set a realistic and achievable target to increase the number of ways they contact their prospects.
A big issue for us all to consider is ’why do we want to market a product?’ and to that question I believe there are two main answers. Maybe the most likely is that you market to make money, lots of it, to pay for the lifestyle that you deserve. A better way to look at marketing is that you do it because your product will change the lives of your customers. Yes that is right, you market a product that will improve their lives. This makes running your business a pleasure because you deliver value to your customers.
An essential part of the program will be to test and measure each marketing step to see that it works. It is a fact that most companies have insufficient measurement in their campaigns. Measurement can be done on so many different parameters and opportunities, and by changing something which may seem small can produce a large swing in results.
There are two main types of advertising, brand and response-based. Brand advertising is for large companies, to raise brand awareness and influence the buying public’s opinion. My only interest can be in advertising that generates response. That is the best way to advertise for my company. The words you use in advertising are the essence of your success, so to have the key to produce an action from your reader is vital.
Email has revolutionised the way marketing communication is carried out, allowing delivery of materials in a matter of seconds irrespective of where you are in the world. Each day you receive many types of message, from people and companies you know and trust, products you have shown an interest in, and a wide variety of products for which you are unlikely to have any opinion. It now becomes important to handle permission marketing, aimed at reducing the amount of unsolicited or spam email received every day.
The telephone is one of the best ways to talk with customers, second only to being face to face. You should know how to use the telephone for the best outcome and impact, by being able to enter the mind of the person you are talking to. You may be faced with rejection, so knowing how to deal with that will be important. The best phone calls are those your customers ask you to make to them, so the ways to make that happen are like gold dust.
PR is press or public relations which is about what other people in the press, on TV and in all the other ways of communication are saying about you. When you are seen as an expert, PR is something that will be easy for you, to make the most of in building your reputation and your company. PR can be won at zero financial cost, but a significant cost in time to make it happen.
So many different solutions
Viral and guerrilla marketing are techniques that can deliver massive results in promoting a product. Attraction marketing is the way offered to bring customers to your site without any effort from you. Spiritual marketing will bring you anything you want, as long as you are in the right frame of mind to believe it will come your way. We live in a strange, confusing world of massive promises and guarantees that can leave you feeling bewildered, unable to be sure of the best path to take.
Let’s Go!
So as we start our journey I want to explain how it will work. I will be interviewing some famous names both in the marketing and NLP field, asking questions about how they see marketing now compared to when they started and what they see as the most important issues to understand for marketers starting out on the voyage. I will be writing blog postings that deal with these points and over a period of time we will cover all the techniques and guidance you need to market your products. You will be able to share in these 20 minute sessions by joining the group by entering your name and a password, please signup now so you can download and listen to the interviews. If you have suggestions of names you have come into contact with, or if you can offer us your own expertise in an interview, please let me know and I will give you a call.
In my next post I will be explaining the basics of what NLP can do and I will share with you my first experience of coaching with Alastair Kidd who will be helping me along the marketing-nlp path. I will have my membership section running so you can log in and listen to part of what we said together.
So there you have it, the full name and reasons for my blog, how I plan to deliver it and why, before you quit this page, you should register for the RSS feed to make sure you cannot miss anything. What we discover will change the way we do marketing forever.
